Court McGee vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio slated for UFC on FOX 19 in Florida

A few welterweights with ties to “The Ultimate Fighter” will meet in April at UFC on FOX 19.

Court McGee (17-4 MMA, 6-3 UFC) and Santiago Ponzinibbio (21-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) have agreed to meet at the event.

UFC on FOX 19 takes place April 16 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla. The card is expected to air on FOX following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

McGee, who won “TUF 11” in 2010, recently defeated Marcio Alexandre Jr. at UFC 194. It moved the 31-year-old former middleweight to 3-1 over his past four fights, which also included decision victories over Josh Neer and Robert Whittaker, as well as a decision defeat to Ryan LaFlare.

He now meets “TUF: Brazil 2” semifinalist Ponzinibbio, who’s also on a 3-1 run. The 29-year-old Argentinian recently rebounded from a TKO loss to Loren Larkin (which netted both competitors “Fight of the Night” honors) with a TKO victory over Andreas Stahl at UFC Fight Night 80 in December.
