A welterweight bout between Brennan Ward (11-3 MMA, 7-3 BMMA) and Dennis Olson (14-9 MMA, 0-3 BMMA) is the latest addition to next month’s Bellator 144 main card.
Officials previously announced Ward for the card, and they today named Olson as his opponent.
Bellator 144 takes place Oct. 23 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The main card airs on Spike TV following prelims on MMAjunkie.
Ward recently rebounded from consecutive losses to Alexander Shlemenko (in a title fight) and Tamdan McCrory with back-to-back stoppage wins over Curtis Millender and Roger Carroll. The Carroll knockout, which came at Bellator 140, earned the 27-year-old former collegiate wrestler a spot on numerous highlight reels:
Olson gets another notable opponent and a third shot at a first Bellator win. The 29-year-old most recently a TKO loss to Paul Daley at Bellator 140. During earlier Bellator stints, the submission specialist suffered a decision loss to Dan Cramer and a submission defeat to David Branch.
