Bellator Fighting Championships will debut its second season on April 8 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and will follow up with a final-round event at the same venue on June 10, the promotion announced on Wednesday.
The fledgling promotion will host featherweight, lightweight, welterweight, and middleweight single-elimination tournaments over 12 weeks during its second season.
According to its release, Bellator’s second season, consisting of 12 shows, will also hold one of its final-round events at the Hard Rock on June 10. A season three premiere is also planned for Aug. 12 at the venue, as well as the third season’s finale on Oct. 28.
Bellator’s second season will broadcast live on FOX Sports Net on Thursday nights (check local listings for times). The promotion will also air on Telemundo with a weekly one-hour highlights show and a half-hour version on NBC as part of its Saturday late-night line-up.
