Bellator kicked off its fourth season on Saturday night at the Tachi Palace in Lemoore, Calif. The evening highlights included the four quarterfinal bouts of the Season 4 welterweight tournament.
The California State Athletic Commission on Monday announced the medical suspensions for Bellator 35, which included only one tournament winner.
Brent Weedman, who defeated Dan Hornbuckle in tournament action, was suspended for 60 days unless cleared by a physician for a facial laceration. Jim Wallhead lost his quarterfinal bout with Rick Hawn, and also received a 60-day suspension due to a laceration to his right eye.
The heftiest suspension of the night went to Zoila Frausto, who defeated Karina Hallinan by unanimous decision. Frausto was handed a 180-day suspension unless she gets a possible fracture to her right hand cleared by a physician. Her opponent, Hallinan, received a 60-day suspension for a right eye laceration.
Waachiim Spiritwolf won a split decision over Jamie Jara, but both were handed 60-day suspensions unless a physician clears their facial lacerations.
Jesus Castro suffered a knockout loss to Paul Ruiz. He was also received a 45-day suspension with no contact for 30 days.
