Galvao, a highly-decorated Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt representing X-Gym in Rio de Janeiro, last saw action in a one-sided loss to Strikeforce welterweight contender Tyron Woodley in December 2010. At 5-2, the slick submission specialist will look to revive talk of the upside that once had fans and pundits buzzing over his finish of seasoned veteran John Alessio in just his third professional mixed martial arts contest. At the time, Alessio, a vet of the UFC, Pride and WEC, had nearly 40 pro fights to his credit.
Lopez, a Wanderlei Silva protégé, is 10-1 and comes off his biggest win to date in a hard-fought unanimous decision over slugger Waachiim Spiritwolf at Tachi Palace Fights 9. The Wand Fight Team product has won nine straight.
TPF 10 will be headlined by a pair of title bouts, as 125-pound ace Darrell Montague (9-1) will put his strap on the line against “Uncle Creepy” Ian McCall (10-2) and middleweight champion David Loiseau (20-10) fights for all the marbles against Elite XC Challenger Series standout Givanildo Santana (15-1).
Also on the bill, world-ranked 125-pounders Mamoru Yamaguchi (26-5-3) and Jussier da Silva (9-1) will toe the line.
