Swedish star Alexander Gustafsson will make his long awaited return to the Octagon at UFC Fight Night 93: Arlovski vs. Barnett against Polish fan favourite Jan Blachowicz.
Twice light heavyweight title contender Gustafsson (16-4; fighting out of Stockholm, Sweden) will step back into the limelight after an absence of 11 months, his last outing against Daniel Cormier ended in a split decision favouring his opponent. Blachowicz (19-5; fighting out of Poznan, Poland) won his last fight against Igor Pokrajac in Pokrajac’s hometown of Zagreb, Croatia on April 10.

Also announced on the already stacked card is Brit Brad Pickett (26-11; fighting out of London, England) who last fought and won against Francisco Rivera, in a split decision contest in London earlier this year. Pickett, who admitted he was contemplating retirement had he lost that fight in London, has been given a new lease of life within the UFC and now faces Henry Briones (19-5-1; fighting out of San Diego, USA).
The event on September 3 will be the third consecutive UFC event in Germany, after successful UFC events in Berlin in 2014 and 2015, but the first time the UFC will travel to the city of Hamburg, known for its boxing heritage. UFC also travelled to Germany in 2009 and 2010 to host events in Cologne and Oberhausen respectively.
