After Bellator 152 win, Alessio Sakara wants Quinton Jackson in Bellator Kickboxing

TURIN, Italy – Following an emotional Saturday win in the Bellator cage, Italian vet Alessio Sakara wants to take a turn in the company’s sister promotion.

“I want to fight the big names of Bellator, but I have an idea,” Sakara told MMAjunkie following his win. “I want to fight (kickboxing) with Quinton Jackson.”

Sakara, who’s probably best known for 15 appearances under the UFC banner, is an Italian native who began his career in his native country but was never able to do so with a major promotion – before Saturday.

Sakara (18-11 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) used heavy punches to score a second-round TKO win over Brian Rogers (12-9 MMA, 5-7 BMMA) at Bellator 152, sending the Italian fans at Turin’s Pala Alpitour into a frenzy.

“My performance today, I think was very good,” Sakara said. “At 205 (pounds), I am very strong. I have a lot of power. I’m very happy.”

But before the win, “Legionarius” had to battle through an opening round that saw him taken down and struggle from his back. So in his next outing, Sakara thinks a Bellator Kickboxing fight with superstar slugger “Rampage” Jackson (36-11 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) would be a fantastic next move – and he doesn’t mean for the challenge to be any sort of disrespect. He just wants to put on a show.

“I don’t want to trash talk,” Sakara said. “It’s only my dream to fight Quinton Jackson in Bellator Kickboxing.”
