Seán Sheehan is back with another UFC preview show as the Octagon returns to the Meta APEX in Las Vegas for UFC Vegas 122, also known as UFC Fight Night 290. The main event sees Brendan Allen take on Christian Leroy Duncan in an intriguing middleweight matchup, with both men carrying plenty of momentum as they look to climb the ranks in a competitive division. Allen enters with a 27-7 record and has put together three straight wins, defeating Marvin Vettori, Reinier de Ridder and Edmen Shahbazyan. He can give opponents problems everywhere, particularly when he gets his grappling and submission game going. Duncan presents a different challenge, bringing a dangerous striking game and a 15-2 record, with 10 of his professional wins coming by knockout. This is an interesting clash of styles because Duncan has the ability to make the fight extremely uncomfortable at range, while Allen will surely look to close the distance, get his hands on him and test Duncan's defensive grappling.
