The opening bout for Tuesday’s PBC on FS1 fight had Mexican Bryan Figueroa facing off against Cuban Ivan Jimenez. When fighters from these two countries collide there’s always fireworks.
Both fighters put their undefeated records on the line and fought to protect them. Figueroa, the taller of the two fighters, was first to act. Capitalizing on an exchange early in RD1. Jimenez followed suit, catching Figueroa before the round ended.
In RD 2 an accidental clash of heads affected Figueroa. He stumbled to his corner but continued to fight, luckily with no damage or cut.
Jimenez picked up the action in the middle rounds, landing combinations and setting up his punches with well executed jabs.
Figueroa as never far behind though. Still very much the aggressor in the fight, he landed combinations in the later rounds that scored when it counted.
Bryan Figueroa (12-0-0) handed Ivan Jimenez (7-1-1) his first loss by UD and moves on with an unblemished record.
