This Sat Senior @desmetjesuiths DE Lanell Carr was ejected from the state semifinal for what the ref said was "hitting the opponent in the head with an open hand punch" when in fact he was knocking away the hands of an opponent that had their hands under his facemask and neck in attempt to antagonise and provoke him (hence them celebrating penalty after they rushed for a 1 yard loss while down 37-0 early in the 4th Quarter). As a result, Lanell will have to miss the state championship game. The last game of his high school career. @mshsaaorg says that their is no appeals process to a judgement call like an ejection, and will not review it even though they have a full week to review this call and get it right. This is not an attack on the ref, he made a split second judgement. But a penalty of this magnitude (missing a game) should be reviewable with the available amount of time and the fact that human error does exist. This needs to be appealed and reviewed ASAP.
