My life has been interesting to say the least. I’m a Special Forces Sniper, Ranger, and Green Beret. I was and always will be a fighter. The last decade has flown by. I didn’t think much about it at the time, but I was the only active member of Special Forces to fight professionally while holding a top 10 world ranking. As one should always do, when I left the sport, I looked forward to new challenges, not backwards to old accomplishments, which is why I was shocked when on March 2nd, 2019 I was honored by being inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame at the Arnold’s Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio. I could never be here without help. It took a village to raise this idiot. First, was Dokan martial arts in Atascadero, California. Both of my instructors there have passed but they were the ones that ignited my passion for martial arts. Second, The Pit and John Hackleman along with training partners like Chuck Liddell, Gan McGee, Jake Shields, Glover Teixeira, and so many others. Chuck cornered me in my first professional win in MMA and paid for all my food. When I was at Fort Bragg I had teammates and friends like Brandon Garner coming in at all hours in between missions to help me get ready for fights. Towards the end of my career I trained out of Jackson Winklejon MMA. It felt more like a family than it did a team. When I wasn’t there, I was with Brandon Gibson and my brother Cowboy Cerrone at BMF Ranch doing late night training. Every fight being supported by my friends and family. Nick Palmisciano and the Ranger Up team in my corner. All my business partners and sponsors made this all possible. Many of you know the day before I received this honor of the Hall of Fame I returned from a deployment to Africa. I am honored to continue to serve in the United States military. It has given me more than I will ever give it. But this is my beginning, not my end. I’m just getting warmed up.
