I posted a video in March about feeling inspired by my Grandma Pat and how she still lived her life to the fullest even at 91 years old at her birthday dance party. Yesterday, she completed her journey. I want to tell you about what I inherited… Sometimes, she was not ok. She had 9 kids and lost 3. One at birth, one to suicide and one to brain cancer (my mother). I don’t know about you, but losing a child, let alone three, would smash me. Even with this, she found a way to smile, always be nice to strangers, always adopt people that needed a friend and kept going. She had her struggles. Who doesn’t. She came up in hard times, had to learn and unlearn things in order to survive, but never, ever, did she surrender. One of the values I appreciate about her the most was her love for a connected family. People that were there for each other, sending paper photos, wanting to know each others kids, showing love.
