Although the title is up for grabs in the headliner, another significant flyweight bout is slated for the co-headliner of The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale on Saturday.
Flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson (24-2-1 MMA, 12-1-1 UFC) is a heavy favorite over “TUF 24” winner and challenger Tim Elliott (13-6-1 MMA, 2-4 UFC) in the main event, and if he pulls off the win, “Mighty Mouse” could next fight the victor of the TUF 24 Finale co-headliner.
In that matchup, Joseph Benavidez (24-4 MMA, 11-2 UFC), who’s No. 2 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA flyweight rankings, takes on No. 3-ranked Henry Cejudo (10-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC).
The TUF 24 Finale takes place at The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. The card airs on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
Currently, Benavidez is a 2-1 favorite over his fellow former title challenger.
Will he beat Cejudo, or will Benavidez suffer his first non-title loss in the UFC? In the above video, Johnson, Ryan Hall, Jake Ellenberger and Jorge Masvidal give us their predictions.
