Who Ya Got? Fighters predict UFC on FOX 12's Robbie Lawler vs. Matt Brown headliner

SAN JOSE – The oddsmakers and fight fans are favoring Robbie Lawler (23-10 MMA, 8-4 UFC), but are fellow fighters giving the surging Matt Brown (21-11 MMA, 12-5 UFC) better chances of winning Saturday’s UFC on FOX 12 headliner?

As you can see in the above video, among fellow MMA vets, it’s a little more evenly matched than the bookmakers’ 3-1 odds. If nothing else, just about everyone expects a close fight on Saturday at San Jose’s SAP Center.

Or, as co-headliner Anthony Johnson put it: “If I was a person who bet a lot, I just wouldn’t bet on this fight.”

But if you’re looking for a reason to pick the underdog, let’s allow one retired notable to make the case.

“I trained with Matt on and off for years,” UFC Hall of Famer Forrest Griffin said. “And I can tell you that the last time I trained with Matt, he got the better of me. That’s never happened before. I was like, ‘Am I really getting beaten up by a 170-pounder right now? Is this really happening?’”
