Watch Ronda Rousey commercial with Amy Schumer, Seth Rogen before Super Bowl 50

It may be a while still before you’ll see Ronda Rousey fighting on your TV again, but she’ll come close to it later today during Super Bowl 50.

In a new commercial for Bud Light that will premier at some point during today’s NFL title game between the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos, Rousey appears as a security detail for mock political candidates Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen – who represent “the Bud Light Party.”

After sternly forcing reporters to back off with their questions, Rousey fields one from Rogen that turns into the ad spot’s punchline.

Schumer and Rogen will appear in a series of commercials today for the beer brand, all based around the “Bud Light Party” theme of them being on the campaign trail. The first commercial in the series is a minute-long spot that riffs on the president’s speech in the 1996 movie “Independence Day.”

Budweiser historically is among the top spenders on commercials during the Super Bowl, and also regularly has commercials that rate among the best every Super Bowl. In the 27 years that USA TODAY has run its Ad Meter poll for Super Bowl commercials, Budweiser or Bud Light spots have finished in the top spot more than half the time with 14 top honors, including a remarkable 10 straight years.

Rousey (12-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) lost her UFC women’s bantamweight title this past November when she was knocked out by Holly Holm (10-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) in the second round at UFC 193 in Australia. The loss is considered arguably the biggest upset in MMA history. Holm will defend her title for the first time in a month against Rousey rival Miesha Tate at UFC 196 in Las Vegas, and Rousey is expected to fight the winner of that bout when she returns later this year.

In the meantime, Rousey has slowly started to climb back into the public spotlight. In late January, she hosted the longtime NBC sketch comedy series “Saturday Night Live,” becoming just the third women’s athlete to host the show. And later this month, she’ll appear for the second straight year in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue – this time in nothing but body paint.

Rousey’s appearance in a major ad campaign is nothing new. She is a regular pitchwoman for Metro PCS and also has done a national campaign for Carl’s Jr. But this is her first commercial with some of Hollywood’s elite. Schumer has become the world’s hottest women’s comedian thanks to her Comedy Central show “Inside Amy Schumer,” as well as her own HBO standup special and her first feature film, 2015’s critically acclaimed “Trainwreck.” Rogen drew critical acclaim for the first time outside his normal wheelhouse of comedy films like “Neighbors” and “This is the End” when he played Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak in the 2015 Oscar-nominated “Steve Jobs.”
