WWE Releases Statement Regarding Brock Lesnar’s Potential Anti-Doping Violation

WWE Releases Statement Regarding Brock Lesnar’s Potential Anti-Doping Violation

It’s more a non-statement, really.

WWE Superstar and UFC 200 participant Brock Lesnar became the center of the MMA world on Friday when the UFC and the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency announced the fighter was flagged for a potential anti-doping violation.

As Lesnar is currently under contract with the WWE, world leading professional wrestling promoter released a statement late Friday to address the situation.

“Brock Lesnar has not performed for WWE since WrestleMania and is not scheduled to return until Sunday, Aug. 21,” the statement read.

OK.

Lesnar defeated Mark Hunt via unanimous decision in the UFC 200 co-main event. If the anti-doping violation holds, the result of that bout will likely be changed to a no contest.

The Lensar news follows another high-profile flagging of Jon Jones, the UFC interim light heavyweight champion. Jones was scheduled to fight 205-pound champion Daniel Cormier on the UFC 200 card, but was pulled due to a positive pre-fight test.
