Jake Shields checked in at 170 pounds for his welterweight title eliminator against Brian Foster (169.8) in the WSOF 17 main event on Saturday at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Lightweight co-headliners Joe Condon (156) and Jonathan Nunez (155.6) also met their contracted weight requirements without issue at Friday’s official weigh-in. The winner of the Shields-Foster scrap is expected to face Palhares for the organization’s 170-pound crown.
WSOF 17 -- which airs live on the NBC Sports Network at 9 p.m. ET -- will also feature a middleweight clash pairing Krasimir Mladenov (185.8) with Brendan Kornberger (185), a bantamweight tilt pitting Bryson Hansen (135.2) against Rudy Morales (135) and a welterweight battle matching “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 17 alum Adam Cella (171.6) with Danny Davis Jr. (170).
Two hours prior, the entire undercard will stream live on Sherdog.com: Soslan Abanokov (145.8) vs. Jordan Rinaldi (145.8), Donavon Frelow (125) vs. Taylor McCorriston (126) and Jamie Point (186) vs. Trey Williams (185.8).
