Antonio Silva returns on Sunday, and with his resume without a win for more than two years, he’s badly in need of a victory.
In better times, prior to his current three-fight stretch that features a pair of knockout losses and a win over Mark Hunt that was overturned due to elevated testosterone, “Bigfoot” was shutting down the likes of Alistair Overeen and Travis Browne.
Against Browne, in October 2012 in a main event in Minneapolis, Silva stopped Browne in the first round in a fight that was at least slightly irregular due to a Browne injury in the first round that limited his movement.
On Sunday, Silva (18-6-1 MMA, 2-3-1 UFC) returns to his home country of Brazil to headline UFC Fight Night 61 against former heavyweight champion Frank Mir (16-9 MMA, 14-9 UFC). The fight takes place at Gigantinho Gymnasium in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. The main card airs on FOX Sports 1 following a trio of UFC Fight Pass prelims.
But before that fight, watch Silva’s win over Browne above.
