Ahead of Saturday’s UFC 190 event, the organization has dipped into its fight library to showcase some upcoming talent. And they emerged with one of Ronda Rousey’s more debated title defenses.
In UFC 170’s headliner in early 2014, Rousey put her women’s bantamweight title on the line against Sara McMann. Like Olympic bronze-medal judoka Rousey, silver-medal wrestler McMann was undefeated heading into the pay-per-view bout.
In the buildup to the fight, McMann was billed as one of Rousey’s sternest challenges – an exceptionally strong and improving fighter who could possibly hang with the champ if the action hit the mat.
Unfortunately, as you’ll see in the above video, we never got that far. Check out the full fight above.
And catch Rousey (11-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) in action again on Saturday in UFC 190’s PPV headliner against challenger Bethe Correia (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC). Rousey, a 16-1 favorite, looks for her sixth consecutive title defense when she enters HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro.
