Video: 'UFC 179: Aldo vs. Mendes' extended preview breaks down the rematch

Check out an extended video preview for UFC 179, including the championship rematch between long-reigning featherweight titleholder Jose Aldo (24-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC) and challenger Chad Mendes (16-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC).

The fighters, who are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA featherweight rankings, discuss their first bout, as do media members, UFC commentators and the fighters’ training partners and coaches.

UFC 179 takes place Oct. 25 at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracanazinho Gymnasium. The main card, including Aldo vs. Mendes 2, airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

The preview also focuses on UFC 179’s co-headliners: No. 6 light heavyweight Glover Teixeira (22-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC) vs. No. 7 Phil Davis (12-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC).
