Video: Cody Gibson's goals? UFC youngster keeps them in his bathroom

Cody Gibson reached his first major goal when he made his UFC debut earlier this year. You can find the rest of his goal on a list he keeps in his bathroom.

Earlier this year, Gibson made his debut on short notice and suffered a competitive but unanimous-decision loss to Aljamain Sterling. The 26-year-old regrouped – and even spent the week after the fight training with Sterling – and now heads into his second UFC bout.

On Saturday at UFC Fight Night 44 at San Antonio’s AT&T Center, Gibson (11-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC), who recently replaced Rani Yahya, meets fellow bantamweight Johnny Bedford (19-10-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) in a FOX Sports 1-televised bout.

No longer satisfied with a moral victory, he wants to start checking off the goals he keeps listed.

“Goals are a big part of how I approach (my career),” Gibson recently told MMAjunkie Radio. “In the bathroom of my house, I actually have short-, medium- and long-term goals posted up, and I update them every few months, especially the short and medium goals.

“It just kind of helps me focus when I wake up everyday with what I’m trying to accomplish and keep the focus on it.”

Check out the full conversation above as he lays out his immediate goals, including what he hopes to accomplish on Saturday.
