MEXICO CITY – The main card fighters for Saturday’s UFC 188 event had the opportunity to face-off live in Mexico City at today’s media day.
UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez (13-1 MMA, 11-1 UFC) and interim heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum (19-5-1 MMA, 7-2 UFC) squared off with things getting a little weird – at least on Werdum’s end.
After the two big men stood toe-t0-toe with the expected serious faces. Once they turned away, Werdum began to get a little goofy. You can check out Werdum’s trademark goofy smile and near belt-dropping in the video above.
Also on hand were co-main event lightweight fighters Eddie Alvarez (25-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and Gilbert Melendez (22-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) as well as the rest of the main card fighters.
UFC 188 takes place Saturday from Mexico City’s Mexico City Arena. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on Fox Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
