The fact he’s such a favorite – 10-1 according to some sportsbooks – tonight at UFC 172 really doesn’t mean much to Luke Rockhold.
There’s no added pressure, even though he’s less than a year removed from his first career loss.
Tonight, Rockhold (11-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) meets middleweight Tim Boetsch (17-6 MMA, 8-5 UFC) in a pay-per-view main-card bout at Maryland’s Baltimore Arena. From an odds standpoint, there’s no bigger mismatch on the card.
However, Rockhold believes his opponent is far more dangerous than he’s getting credit for, though it hasn’t affected his confidence.
“I always plan on going in there and destroying my opponent,” he said.
