While her life as a professional MMA fighter has seen no shortage of success, Michelle Waterson‘s potential career as an “American Ninja Warrior” isn’t nearly as promising.
Waterson, Invicta FC’s reigning 105-pound atomweight champion, recently appeared on NBC’s obstacle-course competition, which has previously featured MMA competitors, including UFC flyweight contender John Dodson.
But “The Karate Hottie” had an extremely short run on the show. In the above video, she recaps her appearance, which aired Monday night and saw her eliminated from the competition.
As Waterson, who also appeared on MTV’s “Bully Beatdown” in 2010, wrote on Instagram: “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, sad face:( I really wanted to do better. Sorry guys, hopefully they bring me back next year.”
Off the obstacle course and in the cage, the 28-year-old Waterson (11-3), who’s part of Team Jackson-Winkeljohn in New Mexico, is surging. She’s currently riding a five-fight winning streak, and she’s picked up nine victories in her past 10 fights.
Most recently, Waterson submitted Jessica Penne to win the Invicta title in April 2013. She plans to defend her title later this year during one of Invicta FC’s upcoming shows, which now stream on UFC Fight Pass.
