Victory Fighting Championship books '3 Shows, 30 Days' year-end run with 6 title fights on UFC Fight Pass

Victory Fighting Championship is gearing up to go hot and heavy to close out the 2016 calendar year this fall and early winter.

The promotion today announced a hashtagged “3 Shows, 30 Days” campaign with fight cards in Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas in November and December. The three events will combine to feature six title fights.

Victory FC 53 will take place the day before Thanksgiving on Wednesday, Nov. 23, at Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center in Waterloo, Iowa. Victory FC 54 is set for Friday, Dec. 9, at Baxter Arena in Omaha, Neb. And Victory FC 55 takes place Friday, Dec. 23, at Kansas Expocentre in Topeka, Kan. All three events will stream live on UFC Fight Pass.

“We are extremely excited to be bringing these title fights and this much first-class action to our great fans before the end of 2016,” Victory FC President Ryan Stoddard stated. “These are big opportunities for all the fighters involved. They want to close the year by making a massive statement and there is no better forum for that than a title fight.”

At Victory FC 53, middleweight champion Mike Rhodes (10-4) will defend his title for the first time when he takes on UFC veteran Ron Stallings (14-8) in the main event. It will be a hometown fight for Rhodes, a frequent training partner of CM Punk at Roufusport Academy in Milwaukee. In the co-main event, Jeff Curran (36-17-1), a veteran of the UFC, Bellator, Strikeforce, WEC and PRIDE, meets Raufeon Stots (6-0) at bantamweight.

At Victory FC 54, the vacant welterweight title will be up for grabs when Maki Pitolo (10-1) fights Kassius Holdorf (8-3) in a rematch. Pitolo won the pair’s first meeting at Victory FC 52 by decision, but in a fight Holdorf took on short notice. In the co-main event, bantamweight champ Rob Emerson (17-11) puts his title up against Darrick Minner (15-5). And the vacant featherweight title will be on the line when Ryan Roberts (21-11-1) fights an opponent still to be determined.

Victory FC 55 has two title tilts with ex-champ Jake Lindsey (11-4) trying to recapture the vacant lightweight title against Mandel Nallo (5-0). Plus, heavyweight champion Daniel Gallemore (5-3) will defend his title against Derek Bohi (8-4) in the co-main event.
