Unbeaten Canadian prospect Jonathan Meunier will replace his injured Tristar teammate Alex Garcia at UFC Fight Night 89 against Colby Covington. It will be Meunier’s promotional debut. UFC officials announced the new matchup on Friday.

Covington (8-1) suffered his first career loss in his last fight at UFC 194 to rising welterweight Warlley Alves. Covington hopes to rebound from the defeat and ruin Meunier’s UFC debut.
UFC Fight Night 89 is headlined by a welterweight bout between contenders Rory MacDonald and Stephen Thompson. The event takes place at TD Place Arena in Ottawa.
