Bantamweight prospect Thomas Almeida's body shot win at Legacy FC 32 punched his ticket to the UFC. | Keith Mills/Sherdog.com

Recently crowned Legacy Fighting Championships bantamweight king Thomas Almeida is taking his talents to the Octagon.

Sherdog.com confirmed with Legacy FC promoter Mick Maynard on Wednesday that the Brazilian prospect has signed a contract with the UFC. A date for his debut with the Las Vegas-based promotion has yet to be determined.

The 22-year-old Almeida captured Legacy’s vacant 135-pound belt with a resounding victory over countryman Caio Machado at Horseshoe Bossier City Hotel and Casino in Bossier City, La., this past Friday night. A left hook to the liver dropped Machado, and Almeida ended it at the 4:17 mark of the opening stanza with a few follow-up punches on the ground.

The Chute Boxe product heads to the UFC with a perfect mark in 17 professional appearances. “Thominhas” has finished all of his victims inside the distance – 13 via knockout and four by way of submission. Only two of those opponents have seen a second round against Almeida.
