UFC Fight Night 101 was not loaded with ranked fighters, but the main event middleweight showdown led to a big shift in the rankings.

Robert Whittaker scored a knockout of Derek Brunson in a thrilling one-round war. With the win, Whittaker jumped from the No. 11 to No. 6 spot in the 185-pound rankings. Brunson fell from No. 6 to No. 8 in defeat.

This coming weekend, No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter and flyweight Demetrious Johnson returns to the octagon to face off against the winner of “The Ultimate Fighter 24” at the TUF 24 Finale. Also, No. 2 flyweight Joseph Benavidez faces off with No. 3 Henry Cejudo in the co-main event.
