The main card for Legacy Fighting Championship’s May 31 show appears to be set with the official addition of UFC veteran Damacio Page (15-8) against Patrick Ybarra (4-0).
Legacy FC officials confirmed the fight booking to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com), with Ybarra moving up from a previously reported fight on the prelims against Johnny Ray Rodriguez.
Legacy FC 20 takes place at American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, and the main card airs live on AXS TV.
Page recently signed a multi-fight deal with Legacy and will make his promotional debut. He’ll be fighting for the first time since his UFC release in 2012, which came on the heels of three straight losses in the promotion following the merger with the WEC. Page went 3-2 in the WEC, including a win over Scott Jorgensen. But after a loss to current UFC flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson, he lost consecutive fights to Brian Bowles, Brad Pickett and Alex Caceres, all by submission, before being let go.
Ybarra debuted with Legacy in February at Legacy FC 17 and picked up an impressive submission win over Billy Buch with a first-round flying armbar. That victory gave him all four of his pro wins by first-round submission – all armbars, drawing comparisons to current UFC standout Ronda Rousey. The 22-year-old Corpus Christi resident will be fighting in front of his home crowd.
In addition to that main card fight, Legacy FC recently announced welterweight Hector Munoz (9-4) will meet Daniel Loyde (3-1), and Justin Ledet (5-0) has been booked to take on Corpus Christi’s Robert Villegas (8-3) at light heavyweight. All four will be making their Legacy debuts.
The latest Legacy FC 20 card now includes:
MAIN CARD (AXS TV, 10 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (Untelevised, 7:30 p.m. ET)
