UFC star Ronda Rousey set for guest spot on today's 'Ellen DeGeneres Show'

On the heels of her groundbreaking appearance on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Ronda Rousey is back on the talk show circuit.

Rousey is a guest on today’s episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” The show is syndicated, but in most major television markets it airs mid-afternoons on NBC affiliates. Check your local listings for the exact broadcast time and channel in your market.

The show’s official Instagram account teased Tuesday’s top guest by saying, “Tomorrow, @RondaRousey does one of the bravest things I’ve ever seen.”

Rousey (12-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) most recently appeared on the show this past September when she was still undefeated and the UFC’s women’s bantamweight champion. That was in the buildup to her UFC 193 main event against Holly Holm (10-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) in Australia – at which she was dominated and knocked out in the second round in arguably the biggest upset in MMA history.

But the loss hasn’t slowed Rousey’s surge to mainstream superstardom. This past Saturday night, she was revealed as one of three women to appear on the cover of this year’s SI Swimsuit Issue. She’s just the second non-full time model to appear on the cover – Beyonce Knowles was the first – and the first full-time athlete to make the cover. She appears on the cover and inside the issue, which arrived on newsstands Monday, in nothing but body paint.

On Super Bowl Sunday, she appeared in a new Bud Light commercial with Seth Rogen and Amy Schumer, adding that brand to Carl’s Jr., Reebok, MetroPCS and others she has done TV spots for. In January, she became the third women’s athlete to host “Saturday Night Live” on NBC, and the first MMA fighter to host.

She has two movies in the works this spring to add to “The Expendables 3,” “Furious 7” and “Entourage” on her IMDB film resume, her recent autobiography was optioned to be made into a movie she’ll star in, and a film based around her famous “Do Nothing B-tches” phrase is in the works and will star Rousey and Tina Fey.

UFC President Dana White said an immediate rematch was in order for Rousey after her loss to Holm, and the new champion agreed. But with Rousey on a planned hiatus for filming, Holm instead will fight Rousey rival Miesha Tate in the UFC 196 co-main event next month in Las Vegas. Rousey is expected to get the winner of that fight sometime later this year. White believes a Holm-Rousey rematch could be the biggest pay-per-view in the UFC’s history.
