Round 1
Peralta moves Young toward the cage and unloads with a flurry of hooks. A right hand blasts Young’s ribs and, seconds later, another right hits his chin. Young hits the floor and the standing Peralta blasts him with another series of punches that turn out the Englishman’s lights. Referee Marc Goddard steps in to wave it off after just 23 seconds, a brutal knockout win for Robbie Peralta. Round 1
Nelson comes out in a wide karate stance, hands low in southpaw, and flicks a high kick at Johnson’s head before switching stance. He closes the distance, grabs hold of Johnson and trips him to the ground at the base of the fence. Nelson works from half-guard on the left side and Johnson catches him in an omoplata. As Nelson tries to flip over the top, Johnson grabs for a foot, but Nelson squirms out. Soon after extracting his arm, Nelson leaps into full mount and Johnson gives up his back. Nelson works for a rear-naked choke with both hooks in but can’t get his forearm under Johnson’s chin. Nelson switches to a body triangle and goes for the choke again, and this time it’s deep. Gunnar Nelson gets the submission win in his UFC debut, as DaMarques Johnson taps out at 3:34 of the first round. Round 1
Watson pops Tavares with a right hand, but Tavares presses the action into the fence and drags his man down. Watson is quick to get back to his feet and Tavares soon gives up the clinch. The middleweights dip in and out of the pocket, throwing mostly blocked punches. Watson backs Tavares away with a pair of body kicks, but Tavares responds with a crisp combination to the head. Watson knees Tavares low, but Tavares quickly recovers from the cup shot and their back to action. Tavares still throwing tight combos, but Watson closes the gap and shoves the American into the fence, grinding and dirty-boxing on the cage. They split and Tavares ducks a punch, grabbing underhooks and easily taking down Watson. Again, Watson won’t stay on the ground long, but he catches Tavares with another low blow -- a kick this time, with about 20 seconds left in the round -- when they get back up. Ref Leon Roberts warns Watson that he’ll be docked a point if it happens again.

Watson lands a good knee up the middle after they break and Tavares gives him a sharp combination in return. Watson kicks to the liver, loops around the side with a left hook and kicks at Tavares’ legs. Watson’s hooks are finding their marks now, while Tavares is whiffing on counter uppercuts. Tavares pumps his jab and then hits another takedown, this time leaping onto Watson’s back with more than a minute remaining. When he does, ref Roberts calls for time to have a piece of tape cut from Watson’s glove. Watson gets Tavares on his knees when they resume and tries to punish with heavy punches on the ground. Tavares avoids any major damage and gets back up, and the middleweights trade hard shots in the clinch. Tavares dives on a leg and holds Watson against the fence with a minute remaining. Watson thinks kimura, then grabs at Tavares’ back leg, but he looks stuck on the fence. With seconds left, Watson esacapes to drill Tavares with a hook and a knee.
