UFC president Dana White and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta have been working for years to get the right TV deal at the right time and that right deal apparently came together with Thursday’s announcement that the MMA juggernaut has partnered up in a seven-year broadcast agreement with the Fox family of networks, which includes Fox, Fox Sports, FX, and Fuel TV.
“This is the deal that I’ve always wanted, we got exactly what we wanted,” White told MMAWeekly.com‘s Erik Fontanez on Thursday, the UFC exec’s infamous Cheshire grin stretching from ear to ear.
“Take the UFC out of it and all the other stuff. Now these athletes that you know, I know, and everybody watching knows deserves to be up there on this platform up there with the NFL, Major League Baseball, and the list goes on and on, now the rest of the world knows.”
White went more in depth about the deal with Fox, as well as providing an update on the return of former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar in this exclusive one-on-one interview with MMAWeekly.com…
