Lightweight talents Clay Guida and Gray Maynard will top the UFC on FX 4 bill, which also features a welterweight confrontation pitting Brian Ebersole against T.J. Waldburger. Prior to the main card broadcast on FX, the preliminary card is expected to air on Fuel TV.
Widely regarded as one of the best 145-pound fighters in the sport, 28-year-old Hioki has won six straight contests. The rangy native of Japan looked sluggish in his UFC debut against George Roop this past October but nevertheless managed to eke out a split decision at UFC 137. Hioki would prove more impressive in his next Octagon appearance, as the featherweight cruised to a unanimous decision on his home turf over Bart Palaszewski at UFC 144.
A six-time veteran of the WEC lightweight division, Lamas made the cut to 145 pounds last June for his inaugural UFC outing. “The Bully” quickly dispatched Matt Grice at UFC Live 4, finishing his game opponent with a head kick and punches in the first round. Lamas emerged victorious in his most recent outing as well, submitting fellow WEC vet Cub Swanson with an arm-triangle choke on Nov. 12 at UFC on Fox 1.
