UFC on FX 3 Fight Update, Mighty Mouse and Uncle Creepy 2: Fan’s Take (Yahoo! Contributor Network)

By Hobson Lopes,

When Demetrius "Mighty Mouse" Johnson and Ian "Uncle Creepy" McCall stepped into the Octagon on March 3 at UFC on FX 2, it was supposed to be the beginning of the exciting flyweight division in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. When their three round battle was complete, the judges awarded the victory to Johnson, only because of a judging error. This error was noticed after the fight and the fourth round was supposed to take place in case of a draw. After the blunder, a rematch was in order to decide who will compete against Joseph Benavidez for the inaugural UFC flyweight title and that fight will be UFC on FX 3.

Johnson is one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC and the flyweight division appeared to be made for him and Benavidez. At 14-2-1, Johnson has used his speed and incredible talent to take on and defeat some of the best fighters in the sport. Former WEC bantamweight standout Miguel Angel Torres, Kid Yamamoto and Damacio Page were all beat by Johnson. The only hiccups in his career have been to Brad Pickett and Dominick Cruz.

The 27-year-old McCall went from an unknown commodity for many, to a popular fighter who many felt won the fight. At 11-2-1, McCall had won four in a row since losing to Cruz at WEC 38 before the fight with Johnson. During the fight with Johnson, he displayed great all-around skills and while many counted him out before hand, he showed that he belongs in the UFC. Not to mention, he and his mustache have become one of the most popular fighters on Twitter, scoring more than 8,000 followers to watch his 6,000 tweets.

Also announced for the UFC on FX 3 card, which will be held on June 8, is a bantamweight showdown between Dustin Pague and Jared Papazian. The 10-5 Pague was a contestant on "The Ultimate Fighter" and could be fighting for his UFC career after losing his debut fight with John Albert. Papazian may be in the same situation as Pague, needing a victory after losing his UFC debut to Mike Easton.
