SACRAMENTO – Saturday night’s UFC on FOX 9 event drew an announced attendance of 11,573 and a live gate of $1,066,610.
UFC President Dana White announced the figures at the night’s post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie attended.
UFC on FOX 9 took place at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, and featured a flyweight title fight between champion Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez in the FOX-televised headliner. Johnson retained his title with a big first-round knockout of Benavidez in a rematch from their UFC 152 fight for the inaugural 125-pound belt.
The California State Athletic Commission will verify the figures and is expected to release an official tally next week.
While the number of “comp” or free tickets was not revealed, the figures represent an average revenue of $92.16 per ticket issued.
