Scott Jorgensen vs. Zach Makovsky

Round 1: Makovsky lands first with an inside leg kick.  Jorgensen presses forward.  He lands a straight left hand.  Makovsky delivers a knee to the body and works to get the fight to the ground.  Jorgensen defends the attempt and misses with a spinning back fist.  Jorgensen moves in with a right hand and ties Makovsky up.  They separate.  Makovsky lands a left hand uppercut that hurts Jorgensen.  Jorgensen closes the distance and gets hit with a right hand.  He works for a guillotine choke.  Makovsky defends the submission attempt and stands.  Makovsky lands a straight left hand.  Makovsky lands another left hand that wobbles Jorgensen.  Makovsky narrowly misses with a high kick.  Jorgensen decides to try and get the fight to the ground  and does.  Makovsky reverses him and the round ends.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Makovsky.

Round 2: They clinch early and battle for position.  Makovsky reverses Jorgensen on the way down.  Jorgensen applies a guillotine choke and gains top position.  Makovsky defends the choke and scrambles back to his feet.  Jorgensen presses the pace.  Makovsky changes levels and takes Jorgensen down.  Jorgensen gets back to his feet and they separate.  Makovsky lands a left hand as Jorgensen moved in.  They clinch.  Jorgensen presses Makovsky against the cage and delivers knees to the legs.  Jorgensen secures a takedown.  He works in Makovsky’s half guard.  Makovsky gets back to his feet.  Jorgensen lands a knee to the body.  Makovsky throws a head kick and lands a superman punch in the closing seconds.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Jorgensen.

Round 3: Jorgensen comes out in the third applying pressure.  Makovsky lands a left hand.  Makovsky steps in with a knee to the body.  Jorgensen ties him up and presses him against the cage.  They separate.  Makovsky secures a single leg slam but Jorgensen immediately reverses him.  Makovsky reverses him and gains top position.  Jorgensen looks for a kimura and gives up his back.  Jorgensen ends up on top after a scramble.  Makovsky gets to his feet and they separate.  Jorgensen lands a combination.  Makovsky looks for a takedown and Jorgensen lands a knee.  Makovsky gets the takedown.  They reverse each other and Makovsky advances to the mount position.  Jorgensen rolls.  Makovsky takes his back and works for a rear naked choke.  Jorgensen defends and the round ends.  Close round.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Makovsky.

The judges scored the fight for Makovsky by unanimous decision.  All three scorecards read 30-27.
