UFC on FOX 12 staff picks: Underdog Matt Brown gets some love

The MMAjunkie staff picks have some clear-cut favorites, but despite the oddsmakers tapping him a 3-1 underdog to Robbie Lawler in Saturday’s UFC on FOX 12 headliner, Matt Brown is getting a little love.

Two of eight MMAjunkie writers and radio hosts are predicting Brown (21-11 MMA, 12-5 UFC) will pull off the upset over fellow slugger Lawler (23-10 MMA, 8-4 UFC), who clash in the network-televised UFC on FOX 12 headliner at San Jose’s SAP Center.

In the co-headliner, Anthony Johnson (17-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) was the unanimous choice over fellow light heavyweight Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (21-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC).

The rest of the card features near-unanimous choices. Featherweight Dennis Bermudez (13-3 MMA, 6-1 UFC) got seven of eight votes over fellow featherweight Clay Guida (31-14 MMA, 11-8 UFC), and Josh Thomson (20-6 MMA, 3-2 UFC) has the same 7-1 lead over Bobby Green (22-5 MMA, 3-0 UFC).
