Headliner Robbie Lawler was the top earner at Saturday’s UFC on FOX 12 event, earning more than $200,000 to go with a win that got him another title shot.

MMAjunkie obtained the list of disclosed paydays from the California State Athletic Commission, which oversaw the event at SAP Center in San Jose. The show had four main-card fights on FOX, four prelims on FOX and four bouts on UFC Fight Pass.

The total disclosed payday for the card fell just short of $1 million at $986,000.

Lawler took home $210,000 for his welterweight title eliminator against Matt Brown, who got $46,000 for his effort in the unanimous decision loss. (Additionally, both fighters got an additional $50,000 as a “Fight of the Night” bonus.) Lawler is expected to rematch Johny Hendricks after the champion recovers from surgery.

In the co-main event, Anthony Johnson stopped Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in just 44 seconds. Johnson earned $106,000 for the TKO win while Nogueira, fighting for the first time in more than 18 months, got $114,000 – or $2,590.91 per second of the onslaught “Rumble” put on him.

Other big earners on the card included Josh Thomson, who got $85,000 for his split-decision loss to Bobby Green ($42,000); Jorge Masvidal, who won $84,000 for topping Daron Cruickshank ($12,000); and Clay Guida, who made $50,000 for his loss to Dennis Bermudez ($48,000).

Now, the usual disclaimer: The figures do not include deductions for items such as insurance, licenses and taxes. Additionally, the figures do not include money paid by sponsors, which can oftentimes be a substantial portion of a fighter’s income. They also do not include any other “locker room” or special discretionary bonuses the UFC oftentimes pays.

For example, as previously reported, UFC officials handed out additional $50,000 UFC on FOX 12 bonuses to Lawler and Brown (“Fight of the Night”), Johnson (“Performance of the Night”) and Bermudez (“Performance of the Night”).

In other words, the above figures are simply base salaries reported to the commission and do not reflect entire compensation packages for the event.
