Round 1: Wineland takes the center of the cage.  He lands to the body.  Jabouin bouncing on the outside.  He lands his jab.  Jabouin throwing kicks.  Wineland goes to the body with a right hand.  Wineland lands a counter right hand.  Jabouin throwing left high kicks.  Wineland moves out of the way of a punch and answers with a counter right hand.  He goes to the body with a right hand.  Jabouin delivers a kick to the body.  He lands a round kick to the head of Wineland.  Wineland continues to press forward.  He delivers a hard outside leg kick.  Wineland pressuring Jabouin.  He changes levels and tries to get Jabouin down.  Jabouin sprawls.  They’re clinches.  Wineland misses with an uppercut on the break at the bell.  MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Wineland.

Round 2: Wineland inches forward.  Jabouin continues to throw kicks.  Wineland continues to block them.  Jabouin moves in with a right hand.  Jabouin lands another right hand.  Wineland land a counter combination.  Jabouin switches stances.  Wineland moves in with a straight right hand.  Jabouin lands a spinning back kick to the body.  Wineland answers with a right hand to the body.  Wineland delivers a combination that sends Jabouin backing up.  Jabouin lands a high kick flush on the face of Wineland and Wineland takes it.  Wineland lands a right hand that knocks Jabouin down.  Wineland follows him to the ground.  He moves to the mount position and lands shot after shot.  Jabouin rolls.  Wineland has back mount and continues to pound away.  Jabouin covers.  Wineland delivers hard elbows followed by punches.  The referee steps in to stop the fight.

“I wanted to prove a point that I could fight on the ground and I think I did that today. In the past when I put somebody down, I’d step back. This time I pushed forward and made sure I finished him and won the fight. 

“I’m ecstatic. I’ve always said I could fight on the ground and never got to really show it. This time I got to show it. I knew if I put my hand on him, he would go to the ground and he did and I was able to finish him.”

“There is not much to say. He was better than me tonight. It had nothing to do with my game plan. He was very smart for finding gaps in my defense, that’s it.”
