UFC president Dana White put an end to the rumors of former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar returning to mixed martial arts following UFC 169 in Newark, N.J. on Feb. 1.
“No, Brock Lesnar is not coming back. Brock Lesnar is not fighting,” said White during the UFC 169 post-fight press conference. “We have no deal with Brock Lesnar. He’s not coming back anytime soon.”
But that doesn’t change the fact that Alistair Overeem, the man that retired Lesnar, would welcome a rematch. ”I heard there’s word that Brock Lesnar is coming back to the UFC. Well, I’ll be here waiting for him,” Overeem said following his UFC 169 unanimous decision win over Frank Mir.
Take a look back at Overeem’s win over Lesnar from UFC 141 from December 2011.
