UFC president Dana White leveraged the power of AOL on Saturday to announce his company’s latest “big thing”… the acquisition of his number two competitor, Strikeforce.
White believes that Strikeforce is a brand that people have come to like, and as the UFC continues to grow across the globe, they need more fighters, more fights. What better way to make that happen quickly than by swallowing up his closest thing to competition?
White insists that Strikeforce, at least for now, will operate in “business as usual” mode, independently from the UFC.
