The UFC continues to mold its roster with eyes on its south-of-the-border debut, as the promotion recently signed Mexican welterweight Augusto Montano to a six-fight contract.

Sherdog.com confirmed the deal with Montano’s management team on Friday. While nothing is official, the Jackson-Wink MMA prospect known as “Dodger” could occupy the Las Vegas-based promotion’s Mexico City card on Nov. 15.

Montano was one of several Latin American fighters who traveled to the United States to train at the renowned Albuquerque, N.M., gym in April 2013. The 29-year-old last competed at the Jackson’s MMA Series 11 in August, when he forced Jason Clayton to tap to punches in the opening round of a middleweight bout.

Two other Jackson-Wink-trained fighters from that evening’s card -- Mexico’s Gabriel Benitez and Argentina’s Guido Martin Cannetti -- have been selected to compete on the upcoming season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America.”

Montano is 13-1 as a pro, with his only defeat coming at the hands of Maximum Fighting Championship middleweight title holder Sam Alvey in November 2011. He has finished all of his victories inside the distance.
