LONDON – Michael Bisping, Anderson Silva, Scott Askham and Teemu Packalen each earned $50,000 fight-night bonuses for their work at today’s UFC Fight Night 84 event.

Askham and Packalen took home “Performance of the Night” awards, and Bisping and Silva picked up “Fight of the Night” honors.

James Elliott, the UFC’s vice president and general manager for the Europe, Asia and Middle East regions, announced the winners at the post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie attended.

UFC Fight Night 84 took place at The O2 in London. The entire card streamed on UFC Fight Pass.

Bisping (28-7 MMA, 18-7 UFC) beat Silva (33-7 MMA, 16-3 UFC) in a close unanimous decision, getting a trio of 48-47 scores in a fight that was wild, controversial at times, and bloody – for Bisping. The victory was the biggest of Bisping’s career and came in front of his home fans in England.

Askham (15-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) staggered Chris Dempsey (11-5 MMA, 1-4 UFC) with a punch, then absolutely leveled him with a left kick to the head to get a second-round knockout.

Packalen (8-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) stopped Thibault Gouti (11-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) just 24 seconds into their lightweight bout on the preliminary card with a rear-naked choke, which was the third fastest submission in the history of the UFC’s 155-pound division.
