UFC Fight Night 80 post-fight facts: Rose Namajunas all over the record books


The UFC’s first non-title women’s main event was a memorable one. Rose Namajunas delivered one of the most one-sided performances of the year with a fifth-round submission victory over Paige VanZant.

Namajunas’ (4-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) submission of VanZant (6-2 MMA, 3-1 UFC) closed the show at UFC Fight Night 80, an event that featured 10 stoppages in 12 fights.

Johnny Eduardo (27-10 MMA, 2-2 UFC) suffered his first submission loss since July 7, 2007 – a span of 3,078 days (more than eight years) and 15 fights.

Eduardo has suffered eight of his 10 career losses by submission.

Santiago Ponzinibbio (21-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) has earned 18 of his 21 career victories by stoppage. He has earned 14 of those finishes in the first round.

Ponzinibbio has earned 10 of his past 11 victories by stoppage.

Andreas Stahl (9-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) suffered consecutive losses for the first time in his career.

Stahl suffered the first knockout loss of his career.

Zubaira Tukhugov (18-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) extended his career-high winning streak to nine consecutive fights. He hasn’t suffered a defeat since May 2012.

Phillipe Nover (11-6-1 MMA, 1-4 UFC) has suffered five of his six career losses by decision.

Kailin Curran (4-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) snapped a two-fight losing skid for her first victory since February 2014.

Curran earned the first submission loss of her career.

Emily Kagan (3-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC) fell to 1-3 in her past four career fights. She hasn’t earned a victory since July 2013.
