The UFC’s debut event in South Korea was a success. UFC Fight Night 79 at Seoul’s Olympic Gymnastics Arena featured five stoppages and was capped off by a competitive and entertaining main event.

Benson Henderson (23-5 MMA, 11-3 UFC) once again came out on the right side of a narrow split decision when he defeated Jorge Masvidal (29-10 MMA, 6-3 UFC) on points to stay undefeated since moving to welterweight.

The split decision result in the main event was one of many on a record-setting card. Below, check out 40 post-fight facts to come out of UFC Fight Night 79.

South Korean-born fighters went 5-2 at the event.

UFC Fight Night 79 set a new UFC record for split-decision finishes with five. Eight of the past 10 UFC fights to go the distance have ended in a split decision.

Doo Ho Choi, Dominique Steele, Seo Hee Ham and Cortney Casey earned $50,000 UFC Fight Night 79 fight-night bonuses.

UFC Fight Night 79 drew an announced attendance of 12,156. No live gate was announced.

Betting favorites went 5-6 on the card.

Total fight time for the 11-bout card was 2:02:45.

Main card

Henderson improved to 8-2 in UFC main-event bouts.

Henderson improved to 2-0 since he moved to the UFC welterweight division in February.

Henderson has earned nine of his 11 UFC victories by decision.

Henderson improved to 4-0 in his career in fights that end in a split decision.

Masvidal fell to 1-1 since he returned to the welterweight division in July 2015.

Masvidal has suffered seven of his 10 career losses by decision. That includes all three of his defeats under the UFC banner.

Dong Hyun Kim (21-3-1 MMA, 12-3 UFC) has earned his past four UFC victories by stoppage.

Kim earned the fifth knockout victory in UFC history stemming from the crucifix position. Jon Jones, Paul Kelly, Matt Hughes and Gary Goodridge also accomplished the feat.

Dominic Waters (9-4 MMA, 0-2 UFC) suffered the first knockout loss of his career.

Alberto Mina (12-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) earned the first decision victory of his career.

Yoshihiro Akiyama

Yoshihiro Akiyama

Yoshihiro Akiyama (14-6 MMA, 2-5 UFC) fell to 1-2 since he dropped to the UFC welterweight division in February 2012.

Choi (13-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) extended his career-high winning streak to 11 consecutive fights. He hasn’t suffered a defeat since June 2010.

Choi has earned 10 of his 13 career victories by knockout. That includes both of his UFC victories.

Sam Sicilia (15-6 MMA, 5-5 UFC) fell to 3-5 in his past eight UFC appearances.

Sicilia has suffered four of his five UFC losses by stoppage.

Preliminary card

Dongi Yang (13-3 MMA, 2-3 UFC) was successful in his first UFC appearance since May 2012. He improved to 3-0 since he was released from the organization.

Yang has earned all 13 of his career victories by stoppage.

Jake Collier (9-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) has suffered both of his UFC losses by knockout.

Mike De La Torre (14-5 MMA, 2-2 UFC) earned his first decision victory since Oct. 3, 2009 – a span of 2,247 days (more than six years) and 11 fights.

Yui Chul Nam (18-6-1 MMA, 1-2 UFC) has suffered both of his UFC losses by split decision.

Tae Hyun Bang (18-9 MMA, 2-2 UFC) improved to 3-2 since he returned to MMA competition in June 2013 after a nearly three-year layoff from the sport.

Bang earned his first decision victory since March 29, 2008 – a span of 2,800 days (more than seven years) and 10 fights.

Leo Kuntz (17-3-1 MMA, 0-2 UFC) suffered the first decision loss of his career.

Ham (16-6 MMA, 1-1 UFC) has earned 14 of his 16 career victories by decision.

Casey (4-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC) has suffered both of her UFC losses by decision.

Casey has earned a “Fight of the Night” bonus in both of her UFC appearances.

Casey’s two fight-night bonuses for UFC women’s strawweight bouts are tied for the most in divisional history.

Fredy Serrano (3-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has earned both of his UFC victories by knockout.

Serrano’s two knockout victories in UFC flyweight competition are tied for the second most among active fighters in the weight class behind Joseph Benavidez (four).

Serrano’s 44-second knockout victory marked the fastest finish in UFC flyweight history.

Yao Zhikui (2-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) suffered the first knockout loss of his career.

Ning Guangyou (5-3-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) suffered his first decision loss since Sept. 24, 2010 – a span of 1,891 days (more than five years) and four fights.

Marco Beltran (7-3 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has earned both of his UFC victories by decision.

Dominique Steele (14-6 MMA, 1-1 UFC) earned the eighth knockout victory in UFC history stemming from a slam takedown.

”Maestro” Dong Hyun Kim (13-7-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) suffered the first knockout loss of his career.
