UFC Fight Night 48 results: Yuta Sasaki overwhelms, submits Roland Delorme

MACAU – Yuta Sasaki needed just 66 seconds to submit Roland Delorme and prove that the UFC has some young Japanese talent on the roster.

Sasaki (18-1-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) simply overwhelmed Delorme (9-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC) and choked him out with an early-fight rear-naked choke.

The bantamweight bout was part of the preliminary card of today’s UFC Fight Night 48 event at The Venetian Macao’s CotaiArena in Macau. It streamed on UFC Fight Pass.

With a big mop of red hair, Sasaki was a blur in the opening second of the fight as he streaked across the cage and whiffed on a flying knee. However, his theatrics weren’t over.

While standing, Sasaki closed the distance, hopped on his opponent’s back, and dragged the fight to the mat. Once there, it was just a matter of time before Sasaki slapped on the fight-ending rear-naked choke and forced a frantic tap-out from his opponent.

Sasaki, just 24, has now won eight straight and six consecutive via stoppage. He’s also 11-0-1 since late 2011.

Delorme, meanwhile, has dropped three straight and is facing a possible contract termination.
