UFC Fight Night 48 Weigh-in Results: Michael Bisping and Cung Le Official

The UFC Fight Night 48: Bisping vs. Le weigh-ins took place early Friday morning U.S. time, making the bouts for the promotion’s second event in Macao, China, this year official.

The main event features two prominent middleweights that are nearing the end of their chances to get in the UFC title hunt. Michael Bisping has perpetually been one or two steps away from a title shot for years. Cung Le is a former Strikeforce champion, but he’s only fought three times since making the move over to the UFC nearly three years ago. The last time Le fought was against Rich Franklin, nearly two years ago in Macao.

“It’s very special for me (to fight in Macao). It’s like my second home,” said Le after stepping off the scales, adding that despite being 42 years of age, he has no immediate plans of walking away. “I’m a martial artist first. I love to compete. I’ll do this as long as I can.”

Although the two fighters jawwed at each other a bit during their staredown, Bisping was confident, but complimentary after weighing in.

“I promise you tomorrow night, you’re going to see the best Michael Bisping ever,” he declared. “I respect Cung Le, but tomorrow night, I’m gonna bring it, 100 percent. Next year the belt is mine, make no mistake.”

The co-main event pits Tyron Woodley against Dong Hyun Kim in a pivotal welterweight bout.

UFC Fight Night 48 is tailored to the local audience in Macao, so it airs on UFC Fight Pass for North American audiences beginning at 6:30 a.m. ET on Saturday.
