UFC Fight Night 37 start times, fight card, TV info, fan and media events

alexander-gustafsson-ufc-on-fox-5The UFC returns to London on Saturday for UFC Fight Night 37 at O2 Arena. Here’s the essential information for the card.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT 37 START TIME: UFC Fight Night 37 takes place Saturday at London’s O2 Arena. The entire event streams on UFC Fight Pass. Prelims kick off at 12:30 p.m. ET (9:30 a.m. PT), and the four-fight main card commences at 3 p.m. ET.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT 37 BACKGROUND: After a narrow “Fight of the Year” title loss to champion Jon Jones in September, light-heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafsson (15-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) – perhaps surprisingly – didn’t get an immediate rematch. However, with a win over local fighter and undefeated contender Jimi Manuwa (14-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) in the all-European headliner, Gustafsson is likely to get the next shot at the belt.

The event’s co-headliner lost an English fighter when Ross Pearson (15-6 MMA, 7-3 UFC) scratched due to an injury, but two hard-hitting lightweights now take second billing on the card with lightweights Michael Johnson (14-8 MMA, 6-4 UFC) vs. Melvin Guillard (31-12-2 MMA, 12-8 UFC).

UFC FIGHT NIGHT 37 ON-SITE REPORTER: MMAjunkie assistant editor Matt Erickson (@MMAjunkieMatt) will be on site in London. Follow him for updates throughout fight week.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT 37 MEDIA WORKOUTS WEDNESDAY: As part of its promotional push for the card, the UFC is hosting three separate workout/scrum sessions with fighters, but only one is open to fans, and you must be a UFC Fight Club member. It takes place Wednesday at One Embankment (8 Victoria Embankment in London) with the four co-headliners, as well as Neil Seery, Brad Pickett, Omari Akhmedov, Gunnar Nelson and new cage announcer John Gooden. Doors open at 5 p.m. GMT local time.

UFC FIGHT NIGHT 37 WEIGH-INS FRIDAY: Friday’s UFC Fight Night 37 fighter weigh-ins take place at O2 Arena. You can watch a live video stream here on MMAjunkie or get text-only results beginning at 11 a.m. ET (8 a.m. PT). We’ll also have a video replay and full photo gallery available afterward. The weigh-ins are free and open to the public, with doors opening at 1 p.m. GMT. Prior to the weigh-ins, fans can attend an autograph session with Conor McGregor, Forrest Griffin, Ross Pearson and Joanne Calderwood at 1 p.m. GMT, followed by a Q&A with McGregor and Griffin at 2 p.m. GMT.
