As the days go by, the UFC‘s Atlanta card is filling up.
UFC officials announced on Tuesday that Yoel Romero will face Derek Brunson in a middleweight fight at UFC Fight Night 35 on Jan. 15. Also announced for the card will be a lightweight tilt between Vinc Pichel and Garett Whiteley.
Brunson (11-2) is on a two-fight winning streak, both wins coming in his first two UFC appearances. His last outing showed Brunson finishing Brian Houston with a rear-naked choke in the first round of their UFC Fight for the Troops 3 bout.
Romero (6-1), like Brunson, is the winner of his first two UFC appearances, and also most recently competed on the Fight for the Troops card. With a knockout in the third round, Romero picked up his last win over Ronny Markes.
Pichel (7-1) comes into Fight Night 35 with an intention of picking up his first UFC win. His last contest finished on the receiving end of a suplex and strikes, courtesy of Rustam Khabilov.
Whitely holds an identical record to Pichel at 7-1, and is also looking to pick up his first UFC win. His last efforts came at UFC Fight Night 29, a TKO loss to Alan Patrick Silva Alves.
UFC Fight Night 35 will take place at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Ga.
