tom-wright-4.jpgBRISBANE, Australia – Friday night’s UFC Fight Night 33 event drew an announced attendance of 11,393 and a live gate of $1.785 million.

UFC officials announced the figures at the night’s post-event news conference, which MMAjunkie attended.

While the number of complimentary or “comp” tickets was not revealed, the figures represent a an average revenue of $156.68 generated per ticket issued.

UFC Fight Night 33 took place at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Australia. The main card aired on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 2 and MMAjunkie.

The main event was a heavyweight fight between Australia resident Mark Hunt and recent title challenger Antonio Silva. While it was expected to end quickly, the two sluggers showed incredible stamina and heart, lasting a full 25 minutes in one of the best heavyweight fights in UFC history.

UFC Fight Night 33 marked the company’s fifth event Down Under. The three largest crowds to attend a UFC card in Australia all took place in Sydney’s Acer Arena, a larger venue that the company used this weekend in the promotion’s first visit to Brisbane.
